Day 0 - Oct 13, 2017, Friday.
My room. Simple, neat and nice.
Ashram schedule, posted in the room.
This is the picture frame I keep by my bedside here. My loves, my sunshine, my rainbow and my rock.
Photos of Swami Sivananda and Swami Vishnudevananda in the room.
I went for the evening Satsang. Some thoughts I picked up from there:
1. An ounce of practise is worth tons of theory - By Swami Vishnudevananda
2. Without intuition, the intellectual mind is imperfect.
3. Our instincts - the instinctual mind is about me, myself, mine. Then there is the intellectual mind which finds reasons to protect me, mine etc. Highest is the intuitional mind which is about giving more than receiving, loving all and uniting.
4. We are only human. No! We are also divine!
5. Chanting is devotional practise, Bhakti. It's Bhakti Yoga. It reminds me how Dadaji used to say dance is meditation in motion and how when we danced with him playing the Tabla, and chanting, it is Bhakti Yoga only.
My deepest heartfelt gratitude to my family - Arpit, Ariv, Krisha - without who's support I would not have come here so happily and relaxed. Arpit is going to manage all the school drop offs, the activities, the home stuff along with his full time and demanding job. He's a Super-Man:) The kids are also going to manage everything on their own. Ariv is very responsible and independent. He helps out with breakfast, packing lunches etc., and even getting Krisha ready in the morning. Ariv has also planned Arpit's birthday surprise with me and he'll be executing it himself. I've taught him a few things to cook also, like lentils, fresh garden rolls etc. He loves cooking and feeling independent this way. Krisha loves to help out too. At first she was clinging to me and kept saying please dont go or she'll come with me. But once I explained to her that Mummy needs to do something to follow her dreams and do this for herself and she can help Mummy by being supportive and responsible while shes gone, she totally understood and turned around. Since that day, she's been very strong. Thanks to my wonderful parents and sister also who always encouraged me in whatever I did. Sonu di, in fact, told me about Sivananda Yoga once she learned that I want to pursue something in Yoga. She's already done their TTC and ATTC also in Kerala, India. Thanks to my encouraging friends too who always told me to follow my dreams. My running buddy gave me a beautiful journal to write about my experience here and I am doing that. It has beautiful quotes in it. I'm so blessed to have these people in my life.
