Day 4 - Oct 17, 2017 - Tuesday

It was a regular day schedule. I woke up at 4:20 a.m. Finished my home-work for the meditation class and the Asana class. My typical day's schedule at TTC is as below:

6  - 8 a.m. - Morning meditation and Satsang
8 - 10 a.m. - Morning Asana class; which is usually focused on intense Asana practise
10 - 10:45 a.m. - Brunch
10:45 - 11:45 a.m. - Karma Yoga
12 - 4 p.m. - lectures on meditation, philosophy or Bhagvad Gita
4 - 6 p.m. - evening Asana class; which is usually focused on how to teach an Asana class
6 - 7 p.m. - Dinner
8 - 10 p.m. - Evening meditation and Satsang

Usually, there is some small time interval between the lectures in which I either talk to Arpit and kids or finish my homework or relax and meditate on the Ashram grounds. But from morning till 1 or 2 p.m., there is absolutely no time from one thing to the next.
In the evening also, after dinner, there is some time to talk home or do my stuff.

Today, for my Karma Yoga (since I've been assigned to Swamiji's house), I cleaned her bathrooms again, folded some laundry and broomed the floor.

Lectures were on chanting by Swami Shiva Shankari and on meditation by Swami Sita. She talked about the mechanics of the mind and how to control the different mechanics of the mind. For example, sometimes our mind is like a jumping monkey, jumping from one thought to the next and restless. To control it, we should focus on the present moment and focus on only one thing. Sometimes it spins fast and churns emotions. Then we need to slow it down. Our mind also associates things - e.g. some cultures associate white with purity, some with mourning. In order to control the mind, we should make positive associations to things.
She also gave a HW to summarize it, which now I've learned to do in class itself.

In the Asana class, we learned how to teach beginner's class again and it was nice. Swami Adi Para Shakti teaches it. He is an engineer but decided to take Sanyasa to find his true calling.

In the evening, talked to Arpit and kids- they were rushing for the piano class. All well.
